The Ad Club’s Leadership in Action course provides formal training for anyone with management responsibility. It’s designed to help managers build on their experience while gaining new knowledge, skills, actionable tools and strategies to manage and lead more effectively. The agenda is infused with discussions about best practices and trends, such as understanding the critical and strategic role a manager plays in attracting, developing and retaining great talent. Participants receive personalized feedback generated through online assessments and coaching on how best to manage yourself, manage your network and resources, and manage your team.

Format: 
Three (3) training classes with group interaction, plus 1-on-1 coaching and online university content.

· Models and practices for becoming a successful manager and leader
· Understanding and promoting employee engagement
· Discovering your personal talents and management-leadership style
· Emotional Intelligence as a predictor for success
· Strategies for managing different personalities, i.e. working style, values, motivators
· Building high performing teams
· Performance management, talent development and succession planning

Pre-requisites
Upon registration, students are required to 1.) Take an online assessment, 2.) Schedule a one-hour coaching session with the trainer/coach.


Clare Cox

Clare has an extensive background in professional development that spans advertising, media, retail, banking, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain and higher education. Her expertise in using performance psychology and emotional intelligence in the workplace has been instrumental in helping individuals, teams and organizations increase effectiveness. She is certified in EQ-i, DISC and a variety of powerful assessment tools for building self-awareness and exceptional working relationships.  Clare plays a strategic role in managing professional development for The Ad Club and has brought custom, in-house training to many agencies and brands, including Allen & Gerritsen, AMP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Bose, CVS, Fidelity, Liberty Mutual, Staples, Stop & Shop, State Street, and the TJX Companies. Clare has a M.Ed. from Boston University and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
