Creative Concepts



This 8-week course provides the opportunity for advertising professionals in the early-intermediate stages of their career to expand their portfolio through challenging assignments. Projects focus on using techniques to generate ideas and solve problems. The course is led by experienced pros that teach, coach and critique along with occasional guest speakers. Classes meet once a week in the evening for two hours over a period of eight consecutive weeks. Space is limited to 15.

    This 8-week course provides the opportunity for advertising professionals in the early-intermediate stages of their career to expand their portfolio through challenging assignments. Projects focus on using techniques to generate ideas and solve problems. Students learn and practice how to develop effective creative solutions to communication problems.  Assignments between classes are designed to help students discover how to maximize their own creative potential.

    Each week students will present their creative work in class to be critiqued by instructors.  The instructors are creative professionals from the region that have worked on national and global brands.  They use real world examples to illustrate successful campaign strategies and show how the creative work brings them to life in a variety of mediums.

    Classes meet once each week in the evening for two hours over a period of eight consecutive weeks. Space is limited to 15.

    Instructors

    Justin Cyganiewicz is a Group Creative Director from Digitas. He leads the global digital team for Crest and Oral-B and manages the digital design group. In his four plus years at Digitas, Justin has created award-winning campaigns for Saturn, General Motors, Staples, and Delta. Prior to joining Digitas, he helped establish the digital capabilities at MMB and RDW Group. In his 14-year career, he has delivered groundbreaking work for LL Bean, Subway, ESPN, MTV, and New Balance.

    James Hough is Senior Copywriter at Digitas and former student of the Ad Club's Creative Concepts Course. Since being hired through the class five years ago, James has worked on national television commercials for GMC and helped to reposition Buick. In the past year he has brought new thinking to Hasbro, CooperVision and Dunkin' Donuts while working on an "Always On" initiative for both Tide and Downy.
