TeenLife has issued their 2010 Guide to Community Service. By registering on the TeenLife website, visitors will gain access to the guide which includes valuable information about teen volunteer opportunities. The Guide comes with comprehensive directory of Boston area non-profit organizations offering service opportunities for teens who may be looking to fulfill school requirements or find a rewarding after-school experience.

The Guide to Community Service categorizes the 150 non-profits by organization type, which encourages teens to find a volunteer opportunity in a field that sparks their curiosity, highlights their strengths and explores possible career interests.  Categories featured in the guide include: Advocacy with a Cause, Aging with Dignity, Animal Rights & Rescue, Community Resources, Cultural Organizations, Health & Well-Being, Homelessness & Hunger, People with Disabilities, Preserving the Environment, Promoting Volunteerism and Youth.  Individual entries in the guide provide an overview of each non-profit’s objective and list the appropriate volunteer representative’s contact information for each opportunity.  Volunteer opportunities are also indexed by town and alphabetically at the end of the guide.
