Boston’s Forge Worldwide said it has been selected as the first ad agency of record forPrivateer American Rum, the Ipswich-based distiller.
Forge president Harry Chapin said the agency’s team will be assisting with brand strategy, advertising, social media engagement, point-of-purchase, and event communications for Privateer.
A Forge press release included a condensed history of the distiller: “Privateer shipped its first bottles in June 2011. The concept began with the genealogical search of tech entrepreneur Andrew Cabot, who found his ancestor and namesake Andrew Cabot who, in the late 1700s, distilled rum from molasses he smuggled past British ships to the North Shore. Inspired by his ancestor, 21st century Cabot and fellow Beverly native Nelse Clark started Privateer Rum.”
Given the Wednesday weather, a connoisseur of adult refreshment might find Privateer’s recipe for a “Winter Dacquiri” (shown above left) to be of some interest.
The recipe calls for two ounces of Privateer Amber, 0.75 ounces of cinnamon syrup, 0.75 ounces of fresh lime juice, and a slice of lime.
Mix the ingredients, lift a glass, then quote Lord Byron, “There’s nought, no doubt, so much the spirit calms as rum and true religion.”
Other Forge clients include Cisco, Dragon, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, and Rockland Trust.
