    On Valentine’s Day, Boston-based ad shop Connelly Partners begs the question: Have you ever been first date fooled?
     
    In its first-ever house campaign, Connelly Partners has launched a digital program featuring headlines like ‘Nobody Loses Pitches Quite Like We Do’ and ‘How is a new business pitch like a first date?’
     
    Sending viewers to firstdatefooled.com, the site shows three of the most painful (and amusing) first date scenarios you can imagine.
     
    With scenes that range from a Star Trek convention to a creepy guy with a fondness for dolls, the spots invite viewers to admit they’ve been “first date fooled” at one point or another.
     
    The spots are inspired by Connelly Partners’ experience in losing the pitch, but winning the business in the end – not once, but seven times.
     
    Calling it a 13-year case study in growth, perseverance, conviction, and creativity, Connelly Partners pokes fun at itself while driving the message that first impressions aren’t always right.
